It’s a line spoken by Jesus to a very important religious leader named Nicodemus. Because we hear it so often we can overlook how very steeped in doctrine this single line is, but this one verse in its context tells us an amazing depth of doctrine about the Christian faith. Here are some of the key things we can learn from this verse. In a single sentence, Jesus tells us that Christianity is the plan of God from Creation, connects this plan to it’s foreshadowing in a host of events and ceremonies in the Old Testament, reminds us of the justice of God and yet explains how God can be just and yet loving and merciful at the same time. The answer is Jesus. Jesus paid for your sins, so that you can be given eternal life. Put your trust in him today.

While probably most creationists would answer with a resounding “NO” it must be admitted that there are Flat Earthers who are Creationists. These believers in the flat earth would argue that they reject evolution and the modern model of the solar system for the same reasons, and the central reason to some is the Bible.

But what is the relationship between the Flat Earth movement and Young Earth Creationism? Where did this movement come from? And are they right about what they think the Bible teaches?

IS THE EARTH FLAT?

Kyle Justice of The Creation Guys asked me to watch their recent project, Faith On The Edge. This video examines the Flat Earth Model to determine if it is in line with Scripture and science as its proponents claim. I think this video was very well done, entertaining, and addressed most of the claims and arguments which Flat Earth advocates use to defend their model. If you are looking to learn about this controversy, I would absolutely recommend this video.

We’ve Got Issues—Like One Nation under…Who?

On July 4th, we celebrate the United States of America, not because she is perfect, but because she is our home. Despite her many failings she has been one Nation under God seeking to love our neighbors as Jesus commands. America provides more freedoms and more opportunity to men and women alike than any nation in history. America responds quicker than any other nation to help people in need, whether from famine, disease, or natural disasters. We are more generous toward other nations than most of the rest of the world—and not because our government hands out help—but because our citizens do. A 2017 report documents this well, saying:

The fact is, America is the most generous country on Earth, and most of the giving is coming from individuals sharing their hard-earned dough. (1)
