Defining Evolution Ch 6 Summary: Creating New Genes

Recently I defined Evolution as

An unguided, Natural process which increases the genetic information in an organism; Creating new Genes which did not previously exist.

These new genes then cause an increase in physical complexity and associated behavior, Both of which increase the organism’s ability to survive and pass on these traits to offspring.

Now we must ask, “Why does there need to be NEW genetic information in every step?” The simple answer is, because you can’t add without adding. In this video your Rent-A-Friend will make clear why Darwinian Evolution has to add new genes at every new limb of the Tree of Life. Enjoy!
